Maya loves to count, and she is learning her alphabet now. Her favorite letter is "W". Here she is counting and throwing her blocks:
We went to Aunt Laurie's house for Easter. Maya had a fun time playing with her cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Probably should have used the zoom on this one. The family!

Back home, the indoor rice box helps to keep Maya occupied.
Oops, am I in trouble?

Finally the weather started getting nicer. We spent a day at FDR state park with some friends. Maya did pretty well, considering she only had a 20 minute nap beforehand.

One of her friends let Maya play with her four wheeler!
We took a day during the nice weather and went to Cold Spring. Maya had fun playing near the water.

Maya's grandparents from Buffalo came out for a visit in April. We went to Muscoot Farm and hung out with the animals. It was a rare 90 degree day! The poor animals seemed to be melting.

While it was still 90 degrees outside, we found some fun activities to do indoors, including finger painting with vanilla pudding + food coloring. At first Maya was not happy since she'd just finished lunch and didn't want to be in her high chair anymore.

Then she got over it.

Fun!
Maya likes to make faces:
And here are a lot of finger painting videos:
She REALLY liked the finger paints.
Playing peek a boo in the kitchen cabinet:
On Mother's day we went back to the farm to see the animals and explore the farmer's market. Maya was loving on the chickens.

Hi chickens!!

In May we also went to cousin Kyle's house for his 6th birthday party. At first Maya was a little more interested in the balloons than in Kyle.
Kyle's house is like one big playground, indoors and out.

Fun in the sand box!

Yum, sand!

She really loved this baseball toy.

Totally flirting with Kyle!

Guitar Hero!

She digs on Bon Jovi:
And finally, we took Maya to a friend's birthday party on a party boat in NYC. It was billed as "kid-friendly" so we were willing to risk being stuck on a boat for 3 hours! Maya found a friend in Eela, who was only 2 months older than Maya.
